Question

 

On 1 July 2026, 6pm-8pm EDT (10pm-12 UTC), the American Revolution Project will be celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence. 

Celebrate this Historical Anniversary with the Research Party on Discord. 

Patriots fought for independence and the ideals of liberty, while Loyalists remained devoted to Britain and its crown. Native nations faced difficult choices, some aligning with either side to protect their lands, and enslaved and free Black men sought freedom through service in both armies. Across the ocean, France, Spain, and other allies joined the conflict, tipping the balance toward a new nation’s birth.

This Project works on all participants of the American Revolutionary War.

Washington Crossing the Delaware is in public  domain  in the United  States.  The painting is usually  used as a representation of the Revolution  of 1776.; an iconic image! The implied question was, "what feelings  does the painting  evoke?"

The painting  was done in 1851

in Germany and the Rhine River.

The painting  was intended  to inspire Europe's liberal reformers. In 1849 Germany  had a failed revolution.  The painting and the artist  both have their own bio's, but with  that said, the fundamental function is to inspire patriotism and hope.

Washington  crossed at night but the painting  is at dawn; as in the dawn of a new hope.

Emanuel  Leutze painted himself  as George  Washington.

I suggested  he should  have choose Glover as the other  German models in painting  represent General  John Glover and his very diversity

Marblehead men.
