Wow great information I do not have much information on the earlier family of Younger Welborn. He is not in my direct line. I am his third great grand niece. I just ran across this information while looking for my direct line.
There are several Welborn and Younger and Teague families listed here I just found this and thought it was useful.
"As New Light preachers moved into the South Carolina-Georgia backcountry, many Regulator families followed their paths. Several sons and daughters of James Welborn Sr. and James Younger moved from North Carolina to the Pendleton district of South Carolina's old Ninety Six District. In 1788, under the leadership of the Reverend Moses Holland, they helped establish the Big Creek Church near the Saluda River. In 1801 James Welborn Jr., a nonslaveholder, served as a deacon. These families had successfully reestablished themselves as solid citizens of the South Carolina backcountry.[44] The Welborns' kinsman, outlawed Regulator Joshua Teague, fled across the North Carolina border around 1770 ... "
