G2G: Leon Kulasinski ancestors in Teodorowo Russian Poland, on the Narev River, east of Ostrleka.

Question

Leon Kulasinski (Kulas) immigrated in 1913 from Teodorowo, Russian Poland  to his brother-in-law, St. Dmochoski, in Riverside New Jersey.  His father, Stanislaw, stayed in Poland. His twin brother, Frank, stayed behind & died young. There was a sister Aniela, whose married name was Gromek in Poland. Stanislaw had more than one wife, as there was a 1/2 sister who immigrated prior to Leon. There were at least 2 other sisters who came to the U.S. in the same time frame. Looking for all of his sisters, possibly named Pauline & Mary, & anything on his family in Poland & any relations in the U.S. He married Josephine Klimek in Burlington N.J. before 1920.

Hello! My maternal grandmothers father Was piotr kulas and he Was from teodorowo. He had a brother named stanislaw- could they be related?

If you are still available on this site, I have not yet found any records I can decipher (Russian language a problem) Do you have any idea what year range Piotr was born in. My Stanislaw was probably born 1845 & 1876. A lot of yr span but I think my grandfather, Leon, who was born in 1896, may have been from a 2nd. Stanislaw also had a daughter, Pauline, born abt. 1892. Did Piotr immigrate and what was your grandmothers name? What yr did she come over? Who was she married to?

Hi ! My piotr kulas was born somewhere around 1863-70? He did not migrate to the us but stayed in Teodorowo. He married twice- first wife Franciszka Mielnicka and second wife marianna baczewska (my Great grandmother)

My Stanislaw could very well be related, he had to have been born before 1872. My uncle said that Stanislaw had also been married twice and that there were children from both wives, but he did not know the names of any of his grandparents. I found Stanislaw when I found my grandfathers ship manifest.  I know of 4 children. Frank, who was a twin of my grandfather, Leon. They were born in 1896. There was a sister Pauline, who was born around 1892. She immigrated in 1906 and married Stanislaw Dmochowski in Riverside, New Jersey. There was a sister, Aniela, I believe, who stayed behind and was married and living in Ostro Mazovieki ? in 1963. My grandfather still had family in Teodorowo and visited them in 1963. There is more than one Teodorowo in Poland. The one my grandfather was from is east of Ostraleka and west of Lomza on the Narev River. The family in Teodorowo was probably a niece. She sent a picture of her family with the message that the children wanted to know when uncle was coming back. There was another picture with a man that was close to my grandfather in age and looked like my uncle, so I assume he was also close family, perhaps a brother.  Paperwork in those years is in Russian and I haven't figured out where I would even begin to look for this Teodorowo. But I'm practicing Russian on records in Suwalki and another great grandparent so I will hopefully be able to negotiate this area one day. Where did your family immigrate to? Please keep in touch Ty
