Henry Keyser was a member of the montana first infantry that went down to the phillipienes in the late 1880's. At the end of the war he came back to San Francisco where he married and had 10 children. He passed in 1933 and is barried in San Franciso.

I can not find a birth certificate for him nor can I find who his parents were. I have found that he resided in Wisconsin before going to Dillon Montana to joint the infantry that later faught in the Spanish American War.

What censuses have you searched and with what results? What does his marriage or death record say about his origins?

I realize that this is a bit old, but I think I might have your answer. I have a book for the Keyser family history that was written by a relative of mine in the 1980's. If the Henry Keyser you're looking for was born on Feb 28, 1858, his father was William Preston Keyser, B. 3/21/1837, D.9/19/1917. His mother would have been Malissa Jane Moore, B. 12/13/1841, D. 2/4/1937. See if this lines up with what you have found so far.
