G2G: Who were the parents of John Hewes of Royston (1583-1621)?

John Hewes and Mary Foote were the parents of Joshua Hewes-72 who migrated to Roxbury in 1633. John Hewes currently has parents Roger Hewes-121 (1554-1611) and Agnew Hughes-11931 (1558-1608) attached to him. Does anyone have any evidence to document these parents? The only information I've found says that nothing is known of his ancestry. I believe they should be detached.

A Pedigree Resource File generally should be checked to verify accuracy.

I can tell you where Roger and Agnes come from

"Lieutenant Joshua Hewes; a New England pioneer, and some of his descendants, with materials for a genealogical history of other families of the name, and a sketch of Joseph Hewes, the signer" https://archive.org/stream/lieutenantjoshua00putn#page/10/mode/2up  pp. 9-11

top of page 11 Roger Hewes had John and the burials of Roger & Agnes.

The problem with this as I see it, is that John doesn't seem to have a Thomas. John names his brother Thomas in his will, although I suppose said Thomas could have been born 1563 just before the registers began.

It says there's a gap in the Bocking baptisms 1570-80.

But it doesn't give Roger's wife an LNAB.

And the dates we have for Roger and Agnes are just the usual estimates.  But John was the youngest kid.  His big sister Agnes was old enough to be his mother.  Parents say 1545?
