G2G: Is there further information on who William Sanders father is?

I have a William Sanders 1661-1720 married Mary Hall is son of John Sanders 1645-1712, married Sarah Davis 1645-1712. And her line goes to Captain James Davis from Jamestown Colony. Could you help clear this up?

Seems like a mix of Sanders/Saunders. So is it a case of spelling variations or two families mixed up? Might need to investigate other family members to come up with the answer.
