Grandpa & Grandma in front of the homestead cabin that he built from cottonwood logs he had to drag 4 miles from the Missouri river. All 5 children were born & raised there. Gpa had to complete the cabin before he could marry Gma Nellie. In 1982, my dad, his brother Claude & 2 cousins visited the homestead. The buildings were gone, but they discovered a well that was half filled with the remains of them. They took out a corner log from the original cabin. My father sawed it into 2 pieces and gave one to Uncle Claude. I cherish the piece I got from him.
GGpa & GGma Warner moved to California the next year with G. uncle Clarence.
I wanted to share this family photo of Great Uncle Charles Smith with the community. Location: Williams County,, North Dakota. Date: After Oct 1907.
