I have wondered for years where the Turck name settling in Clymer New York and other places in America originated. It obviously came from the Netherlands. It seems that the Dutch followed each other scross the country settling everywhere. I myself am a retired pharmacist looking to geneology for answers to these questions My aunt actually did a lot of the research into the descendants That is where the minerdescent.com/2010/08/11/paulus -jacobszen-turck and minerdescent.com/2010/08/10/henry-turk/ sources came from .
Featured Asian and Pacific Islander connections: Russ is 25 degrees from 今上 天皇, 22 degrees from Adrienne Clarkson, 28 degrees from Dwight Heine, 25 degrees from Dwayne Johnson, 21 degrees from Tupua Tamasese Lealofioaana, 23 degrees from Stacey Milbern, 21 degrees from Sono Osato, 33 degrees from 乾隆 愛新覺羅, 25 degrees from Ravi Shankar, 29 degrees from Taika Waititi, 27 degrees from Penny Wong and 20 degrees from Chang Bunker on our single family tree. Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention those profiles need.
Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up gedcom biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

At our Dutch Roots Project page you can find all project info .. if you still have questions or need some help feel free to ask, we're all happy to help :)
Here's a direct link to our most important links for info for and about Dutch profiles. And here's the latest Project Update.
Good luck, have fun and thanks for joining !
ps: Added some info + sources to Paulus Turcq (also Turck) will look for more, but so far it looks like they didn't have a son named Jacobus..and since the descendants moved to New Netherland, you probably might be interested in joining the New Netherland Settlers Project as well ?
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz! Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, collaborating with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research for time period, location, or topic. Review the project pages to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :)

Please start with the How-Tos - they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around
