Has been pursuing an interest in his own family history since the late 1980's, on and off.
After many years of gathering family history information, he has decided to commit it to a geneology site that makes the information freely available and that he doesn't have to worry about maintaining himself.

I'm contacting you for the annual ANZACS Project membership checkin. We really appreciate your involvement in the Project in the last year. Thank you so much for all your help to improve profiles of ANZACs on WikiTree.
Please could you reply to this profile comment, or send me a private message to let me know if you'd like to stay on in the Project, and if so, what ANZACs activity you're planning to work on over the coming year. There are some ideas for activities on this page - Project:Anzacs. You could also add or update your entry on the 'Project Members and what we are doing' heading on that page.
If you've moved on to other things for the moment, that's absolutely fine. We'd appreciate if you'd let us know so that we can remove you as a member of the Project.
The ANZACs Project is a sub-project of the Military and War Project, which has a channel on Discord. If you're not on Discord yet, here's some information - Help:Discord. It's a great way to communicate with other members of the Project and help each other out.
We're always happy to receive any ideas or suggestions that you have to make our project even better.
Thank you for replying to the Anzac July (the subproject of Military and War) check in, I have marked you as active. I am not the best on categories, but I suggest you join the categories. I do know Military categories were created by the categories group with the Military and War group. I also suggest that you who are active on Anzacs get together to make it a stronger subproject. I heard it started out as part of the Australia project?
On behalf of the leader of the Military and War Project, I am doing the six month check-in with Anzac members.. Have you been active in the Anzacs project in the last six months?
Please note that it is a requirement for membership in the Military and War Project that you respond to these check-ins. To make bookkeeping easier, just click Reply to this message on your own page, add your reply, then Post the Reply. I look forward to hearing from you..
Many thanks,
Mary~ Project Coordinator, Military and War Project
Hi Mary - I've sent a more detailed reply to your email. As far as I'm aware, ANZACs project has no formal structure or planned activity. I have been active creating and orphaning profiles for men who served in Australian & NZ forces in WW1 & 2 though.
Thank you very much for all the work you have done on the Cranmer-416 profile is looking so much better. My family connection is through his mother's line the Pallas. He was one of a bunch of profiles on my to-do list from last year's Connect-A-Thon.
Re: "06:28: Mark Rogers edited the Birth Place for William Lewin (abt.1814-aft.1890). (remove England - Isle of Man is not part of England, correct spelling) [Thank Mark for this]"
Fascinating. Your edit had me go look up more about this island. I had no idea! Thanks for the education.
My wife, Robin Brent now Robin Lloyd-Jones is the first cousin, twice removed of Kate Lilian Abbott. She was born Violet Hill Dungog, Daughter of Adele Abbott who was the daughter of Frederic Abbott. I am trying to put my family tree up on this site as it seems to take good steps protecting infomation.
Hello, Mark. Greetings from California. If my calculation is correct, you and I are fifth-cousins, three times removed. I am very happy to know of relatives in the great nation of Australia!
On behalf of the Australia Project leadership team, we're carrying out a Project Members Check-in. I am following up with you, as you are a member of the Indigenous Australians Project and so I'm checking if you are still active in that work. We are also launching our new teams for the Australia project. Please could you let me know if there are any other team/s you would like to contribute to. A list of teams is on the Australia Project page. Please respond by private message.
We really appreciate your enthusiasm in working on Australian profiles on WikiTree, and thank you for all the work you have been doing. We look forward to hearing back from you and that you will decide to be part of the project as we move forward with the new teams for the project. Regards, Gillian
We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.
Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please dont assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.
Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.
Thank you so much for responding to our check-in. We are delighted that you wish to continue contributing to the Categorization Project. Below is a quick checklist for active members. The project leaders would like you to make sure you have done the following:
The Scotland Project is part of the umbrella UK Project. I've therefore added the UK project badge to your profile. If you click on the badge it will take you to the full list of our wonderful members. Click on United Kingdom Project will take you the first page of the project. Scroll down to participants. I've added your good self and your Country of interest etc. I've also added you to the Scotland Project member interests page.
Mark, I saw your request to join Scottish Clans Project and I have some information on a Jones family from Wales that I'd be happy to share in hopes that it will help you. The info I have is on David Jones born Llanwenog, Cardiganshire, Wales in 1668. He married Esther Morgan. He died 20 Aug 1748 in what is now New Castle County, Delaware. Feel free to email me if this is the right Jones family.
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Thank you for joining the Anzacs Project.
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.
Add the project tag to your Following list to be kept up to date on any activity that occurs for that project.
Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :-)
Thanks for rejecting the bad MatchBot-proposed merge. He's been on timeout for a few months, waiting on tweaks to search algorithms, but I was worried too many good merges were going unfound so I asked that he be re-started (but no more than 50 proposed merges a day) even though the tweaks haven't happened yet.
