Hello Eugene

Thank you for checking in to the 2021 check in for Southern Colonies.

This space page https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Jamestown,_Virginia_Colony shows how to prove a person was in Jamestown Colony. There are several ways listed on the page for you to prove an ancestor was there. This Colony ended in 1625 and became part of Virginia.

Your other question of how to be active: 1) You might be adding sources. 2) You might create new profiles that have not been created before, with sources for the Jamestown person 3) You might be adding stickers. 4) You might be adding to an existing profile, formatting, or improving the profile.

If you had a badge, it was removed in 2021 at the end of January.

If you become interested in Jamestown, again, and would like to rejoin at any stage you would be most welcome to do so by answering the G2G sign-up post here.

Hi,

The Germany Project Leaders are doing their semi-annual check-in with all project members and we want to verify that you’re still interested in being a member of the Project. Please respond by private message and let me know.

REMINDERS: (1) We use Google Groups for project collaboration and you aren’t yet a member of the group, please submit a join request here (make sure to add your name/WikiTree ID to the request). (2) add GERMANY to your followed G2G tags so you don't miss any discussions in G2G (see: Help:Tags#How_to_follow_tags Help:Tags).

Are you currently working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? If not, take a look at our main Project page for a full list. We recently launched a new Profile Improvement Team and are seeking new team members. Let me know if you’re interested.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Mary,

I did find my Jamestown Ancestors, Henry Filmer & John Clay,,,of course amongst them are some spouses & parents that I haven't done much with. I have been so tied up with my non-Jamestown ancestor research as well as some research for Civil War, War of 1812, & Revolutionary War ancestors, as well as joining various Heritage Societies, Jamestowne Society among them.

I daresay I have been of little value to WikiTree for over a year, and haven't the foggiest idea what I am supposed to do as a member of any subproject.

Hi Eugene,

I am polling Jamestown Colony Members to learn if you are still active on Jamestown Colony subproject? https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Jamestown,_Virginia_Colony. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:US_Southern_Colonies_Jamestown_Team Team page

Have you found your ancestors there and the ship they traveled to America upon? Thanks for your contributions and interest here. I look forward to hearing from you.

I haven't been active in the Jamestown Colony project. In fact I really don't understand these projects, how they work, and what do the people do who are active in the project.

Hi, EuGene

The Ambassadors project has been reorganizing and is looking for those who have a membership at a genealogical society, to help in spreading the word about WikiTree.

We're working on ways to improve how WikiTree connects and interacts with genealogical and local history societies. This is the kind of thing we want to do:

  • Liaise with societies: set up your local society with a free-space page and some WikiTree materials as part of a package.
  • Use social media to promote what societies are offering on WikiTree.
  • Encourage bloggers to blog about societies and the resources available to them on WikiTree.

Are you interested in participating in some way? Do you have some ideas to share?

update 26 Dec. 2019... EuGene got back to me & is no longer a badged member (so no, he's no longer a Gateway Guardian).

Hi! I'm catching up on Trail Tracks/Gateway Guardians. I got SO FAR behind, I cannot find previous discussions in my e-mail records.

Are you still Gateway Guardian for the Lowes (Henry, Vincent Lowe, & Nicholas), Henry Filmer, and Charles Barham?

Let me know (again... sorry!)

Cheers, Liz

Liz,

I'm not active enough to be a Gateway Guardian for anyone, so you might as well take my name off of those other Gateway Ancestors. As far as I know, I have removed all stickers of any type other than the Magna Carta Affiliate sticker ( even removed the Developed a Profile and Developed a Trail stickers).

I did EuGene. As for the Developed a Profile & Developed a Trail stickers - you earned those & don't need to remove them ... just like you're still on Base Camp as having developed the Filmer trail. You're just not Guardian for his profile anymore. (To add back the Challenge Met! stickers, take a look at your Changes tab - if you can't figure it out, let me know & I'll send a trusted list request, then I could re-add them for you.)

Cheers, Liz

Liz,

OK, I put the Challenge Stickers back on my profile, but not the Guardian Sticker.

Liz,

Gosh, I didn't know I was a Gateway Guardian for Charles Barham and the Lowes, but inasmuch as I am no longer Magna Carta badged, I should be removed from them as well.

Liz,

I didn't realize I was listed as Gateway Guardian dor Charles Barham and the Vincents...guess you gotta cancel them, too.

Hi Eugene

If you find you cannot be active, just PM the leaders to ask for the Southern Colonies badge removal.

Everyone understands directions change for the ancestors. It is hard to be active in all projects.

Hi EuGene! I did not post this sticker on Henry's page, as there's already quite a bit of Magna Carta Project comments there. Once the trail is badged, I'll post it. But you can add it to your profile - copy the coding in the e-mail you receive & paste it into your profile. You can change the display of your name to suit you. Thanks!

Hi EuGene--

I added you both as manager on Jamestown Colony and to the list. Jamestown is part of US Southern Colonies project, thus you received the US Southern badge. (Jamestown does not have its own badge.)

Link for Jamestown https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Jamestown%2C_Virginia_Colony

If you have created WikiTree profiles for John Clay and Henry Filmer, please list them on the page.. You will notice I also have created a chart of their names if you would like to add the names!!

Welcome to Jamestown Colony subproject of Southern Colonies!
