Biography
Adriaan was on the Aardswoud Reformed Church membership list in 1666 and in 1690. In 1704 and 1710 Arien, Jacob, Pieter and Jannetje Crelis Sluis are listed in the Aardswoud membership list as living by the Sluis on the dike. In 1721 he lived in Aartswoud aan de Zeedijk op de Geestmerambacht Sluijzen (on the sea dike on the sluices in the Geestmerambacht, an area in between various towns that today is a tourist resort).
Adrian Cornelisz Sluijs from Aartswoud transferred his church membership to Wervershoof as he moved to Zwaagdijk on Dec 14 1721, presumably to work with his brother Cornelis. Curiously it wasn't recorded in Wervershoof until Jan 25 1722. That left only his brother Jacob taking care of the locks in the family business. Or did they pass the job on to someone else?
