Biography

Pieter Cornelisz Sluijs, a widower from Aartswoud, married Elbrig Jacobs from Spanbroek on Feb 15 1652.

It's possible that one of Pieter's sons was named Jacob. There was a Pieter Jacobsz Sluijs whose family later lived in Harenkarspel and Zijpe. It's quite possible this Pieter was the grandson of Pieter Cornelisz Sluijs and son of Jacob Pietersz Sluijs. Aartswoud is between Zijpe and Andijk / Wervershoof. And the names Cornelis, Ariaen, Pieter and Jacob come up frequently in earlier generations of both Sluijs families.
