Biography
Jannetje (Jantje). 1670 Jannetje appeared first on the Aardswoud Reformed Church membership list in 1690. In 1704 ans 1710 Arien, Jacob, Pieter and Jannetje Crelis Sluis are listed in the Aardswoud membership list as living by the Sluis on the dike. Jannetje probably took care of the house and the family garden while her brothers took care of the locks and most likely some livestock. In 1710 she moved to Winkel. She took care of brother Cornelis’ family after 1715 according to Vrije Westfriezen I, which is probably in error. Her sister Guurtje moved to Zwaagdijk in 1715, so she was probably the sister who took on the job. Unless Jannetje left for Winkel in order to get married, she probably remained single until she died.
