Elizabeth (Stewart) Stewart Lady Kintail is a member of Clan Stewart.
Elizabeth Stewart is the daughter of John Stewart, 2nd Earl of Atholl and his wife, Lady Janet Campbell.[1] Her date of birth is unknown, but given she married in 1538 (see below) a birth date of about 1515-1520 would be possible.
She married in 1538 Kenneth 'na cuire' Mackenzie, 10th of Kintail, son of John Mackenzie, 9th of Kintail and Elizabeth Grant. John Mackenzie resigned part of the lordship of Kintail and the lands of Mekill Braan to his heir Kenneth Mackenzie and his spouse 'Isabel' Stewart by charter dated 24 April 1543.[2]
Murdoch, presumably eldest son, stated to have died young, but must have been still alive on 28 July 1560, when a charter issued to Roderick the third son, naming Colin as second son, but died before 6 Jun 1568, when Colin succeeded his father;
Colin 'Cam' Mackenzie, named second son in the charter dated 28 July 1560, but succeeded his father as 11th of Kintail;
Roderick Mackenzie, granted church lands of Ardfaillie 28 July 1560 and lands of Redcastle 26 February 1599 and was ancestor of Mackenzies of Redcastle;
Dugald Mackenzie, named with his brother Roderick in an attack on Glengarry in 1581-82;
Janet (also called Mary), married 1) Angus Macdonald of Glengarry, as his third wife; 2) Alexander Chisholm of Chisholm;
Agnes, married (contract dated 11 May 1567), Lachlan Mackintosh of Mackintosh;
Margaret, married (contract dated 24 November 1556), Walter Innes, son and heir of John Innes of Inverbrakye;
Catherine, married, as his second wife, Alexander Ross of Balnagowan;
Elizabeth, married Walter Urquhart of Cromarty;
Marjory, married (contract dated 30 May 1574), Robert Monro, son and heir of Robert Monro of Foulis.
Kenneth Mackenzie died 6 June 1568,[2] but it is unclear when Elizabeth may have died. The current date of 23 June 1567 has been left until further research takes place.
Elizabeth Stewart married three times:

James Murray m. before 1538.
Kenneth na Cuirc 'of the Whittle' Mackenzie, 10th Laird of Kintail, son of John Mackenzie, 9th Laird of Kintail and Elizabeth Grant, m. in 1538.[3]

Hello, the 3 sources given only mentioned her being married to a MacKenzie.
It seems to me that the wife of William Sutherland and James Murray was a different Elizabeth Stewart.
To back up this :
In the Scots Peerage, vol 3, page 199, It's said that William died around 1542-1543 and that his widow remarried to James Murray.
This contradicts the fact that our Elizabeth got married in 1538.
