I was just updating this profile of the granddaughter of US President Benjamin Harrison, when I realized that she had married the great grandson of US President James Garfield.   Does anyone know of similar cases?

The daughter of President Richard Nixon married the grandson of President Dwight Eisenhower.  But since they are both still living there are no profiles yet.  I don't know of any others

My favorite connection belongs to the Roosevelts. Eleanor Roosevelt's maiden name is Roosevelt. Her father's brother was President Theodore Roosevelt. Because her father had passed away before she married, her Uncle Teddy acted as her father and gave her away. She was very close with her cousins who lived at the White House, was married at the White House, and visited the White House often. Of course her distant cousin and future spouse Franklin Delano Roosevelt made sure that she lived for more than three terms in the White House.

I have read that Eleanor and FDR were distantly related, two branches of the Roosevelt family. Something like 4th or 5th cousins, maybe?

I happened to notice when looking at which Presidents I was related to that quite a few shared distant ancestors.... and made me wonder if aspiring to the Presidency runs in the DNA.

Leadership traits probably do.
