G2G: I've hit a brick wall with my parernal grandmother

So growing up, my mother's side of the family never really spoke to me about where they were from or their life. So now that I'm trying to learn more about my roots I've been hit now with a major brick wall. And maybe someone out there can possibly help me with showing me something to give me a start.

All the information that I have been able to gather on my own about my paternal grandmother's side is.

-Her married name was Karen Kay Waldrip

- Her mother's name was Margaret. I've seen Brown and Bennett used for her last name.

- I've seen a man named both spelled either Haskel or Haskell Elwood or last name also listed as Brown. But I really can't find any information on him from what I've been able to gather.

-If it is also of any importance to finding anything my grandmother married a man named Jackie Lee Waldrip.

-And I was told that my grandmother was born in Lodi California on Aug 3rd 1948.

But if anyone can help it would mean a lot, since I really would like to know more about my grandmother since she passed a few years ago, and I can't ask her about these things.

I see a California brith record to help people get started:

NAME: Karen Kay Brown
GENDER: Female
BIRTH DATE: 3 Aug 1948
BIRTH PLACE: Fresno, California, USA
FATHER'S NAME: Haskel Brown
MOTHER'S NAME: Margaret Bennett

Great work, Micheal!

Next I would try looking for one of the following records:

  • A marriage between Haskell Brown and Margaret Bennett
  • Karen’s death record
And in April 2022, when it comes out, you can try searching the 1950 census for the family.
Good luck searching!
