G2G: Seek Early History of Lucy Anna Brown (1836 - after 1925) a black person

Question

All in this family history are recorded as black people.  She is most often found with given name Anna or Annie, born 1836 and listed as from Delaware County NY in several census.  In 1870's living in City of Hudson, Columbia County NY she was married to Theodore Thompson and had two children by him.  He disappeared from there and from her after 1875 and seems to show up in Florida with his father Isaac.  She next married Azariah Brown 1892 in Hudson NY.  The NY State Marriage Index for that marriage includes duplicate names for her:  Lucy A. Garrison and Lucy A. Thompson.  Don't find "Lucy" being used in records except Azariah's Civil War pension cards.  Garrison may be either her maiden name of an earlier marriage but I can't find her anywhere before her marriage to Thompson.  Azariah and Anna remained in Hudson.  Azariah died there 1907 and is buried in City of Hudson Cemetery,  Anna did not remarry and died after 1920-1925 - last found as a "boarder: in New York City - no burial record found.

I have a few questions. Does she have a profile on WikiTree? Did she have children? Who was she boarding with? Sometimes people are listed as boarders, but they are actually some sort of relative like an aunt or in-law. It also seems odd that she would be in NYC late in life unless it was with some sort of relative that was taking care of her, unless she was in a facility. Do you think she may have also originally been from Florida like her husband Theodore Thompson?

I found Azariah's obit in NYS Historical Newspapers, but it doesn't say anything about his widow. He, however, was a character!

I have not yet created a Wiki Profile for Azariah but will when all is brought together   I am not biologically related to Azariah or his family line but such was previously implied because his older brother Daniel Brown participated in a family setting that at first implied a relationship.  He is found also as
"Ezeriah" but his military records correctly use Azariah.  DNA subsequently disproved any biological relationship.  I was lead to Azariah as he was a probate beneficiary of his brother Daniel 1858 death.  To respond:  Anna, her husband Theodore and two children Mary and Isaac Thompson appear in the 1875 NY State Census Pg 25 Lines 29 thru 36 together with Theodore's Father Isaac, his mother Margret and two siblings John, and Sarah, all born in Dutchess County NY except Annie in Delaware County.  Births or marriages, if any, before 1881 are not in commonly available records because NYS did not required towns to report such before that,  Searching for Theodore and his father Isaac later than 1875 scantly found them in southern states and I thing the father died in Florida,  I think the daughter Mary appeared with her father once.  I did not find Annie in the 1880 USC not until her 1892 NYS marriage to Azariah - he had been married to a Nancy Miller and n living Lee MA until Nancy's 1888 death there,  I found Azariah;s 1907 burial in Columbia County records,  I found Annie in the NYS Census Pg 33 Line 15 in New York City at 187 West Ave with with a young "Pope" Husb/Wife and oither "Lodgers". Pope's wife's name does not fit in.  Beforehand she's in the 1920 USC at age 83 in Hudson NY renting space in what was Azaiah;s historical 433 Diamond Street house..  Thanks for the newspaper obit.

Contrary to Azariah's obit and what he may have said:  Bits and pieces .... In his 1870 Lee MA marriage record he named his father Azariah and mother Betsy Brown and reported their origin as Township of Livingston Columbia County NY.  His siblings Daniel, Flora and Mary al subscribed to that.  They were Free Blacks (see Daniel in Gallatin Columbia County 1840 USC) who were released by the Livingston Family who occupied "Livingston Manor" on the east side of the Hudson River NY State.  The Livingstons were well known slave traders in NYC and slave holders until it was abolished in NYS.  Their Manor was granted to them by England and they were powerful politicians over the northeast.  He registered for the Civil War draft there and enlisted in Albany NY.. He started his pension in 1888 and Annie took it over in 1916.
