Hi Ann,

I think, though I'm not completely certain, that Samuel Todd was married to Eliza Stewart and that they were William Alex's and John's parents. Samuel was a muslin and tow dealer in Belfast in the 1850's.

If the two branches had a male DNA sample from a living male Todd descended from a male Todd and the two results matched, then this would prove kinship.  Email me if interested in more information about this technique.
