G2G: Moffat-1063-1.png did not upload correctly, how do I delete so I can upload again?

Question

The image file has uploaded to WikiTree but there is no data, i.e. 0 pixels. I want to delete it so I can upload again. It is a copy of a marriage certificate and will be added as a source.

Thanks Dennis, I did read the faq but took it as applying to the primary photo only. Reading more carefully I understand that it will apply to source images as well. I will wait a couple of days for the image to be removed automatically and try again.

I could be mistaken about this, but I don't think you have to wait.  Give it a try and see what happens.

No it advises me that the image still exists and checking it I see that it is not attached to anyone. The FAQ says "This disconnects the image from any profile, but it will still exist in the database for a short period of time so that it can be recovered. This way photos can't be maliciously or mistakenly deleted." I guess I will have to wait for the recovery period to expire. I am using Linux which allows characters in filenames which other operating systems don't allow so I will rename the file to remove possible problem characters like () and , so the upload goes smoothly in due course. I notice WikiTree did rename my upload so maybe the characters in the original file name did not matter but I won't take chances next upload.
