Marguerite Bourg married Ambroise Garidel in January 1788 in Donaldsonville [DOBR v 2, p 305]. neither parents were given, but Pierre Aucoin and Felicite Aucoin were witnesses to the marriage. Could this Marguerite be widow of Firmin Aucoin, who died before 1784, leaving his widow to travel to Louisiana in 1785?

That's a good question, Donald! The possibility is definitely worth pursuing.

According to ancestry tree of katrinalisa504 yes Marguerite was first married to Firmin Aucoin 5/12/1778 had one child then married Ambroise 1/28/1788 and had two children, Eulalie in 1789 and Louis Ambroise in 1793

Firmin died Oct 1784 in France

Her parents were Alexandre Bourg 1719 and Marguerite Josephte Hebert 1730/1788

Unfortunately that tree doesn't give evidence that the Marguerite who married Firmin Aucoin is the same person as the Marguerite who married Ambroise Garidel.
