Question

There are a few notable profiles that directly or indirectly have  a halloween  connection.

Since Halloween is fast approaching as is the Global Family Reunion if anyone would like to work on the living profiles I will add them to the trusted list

I went about as far as I could on Gwynne for tonight. Maybe someone can pick up where I left off and keep it going. If not, I'll pick it up again tomorrow.

Ha! I think I managed to get Gwynne connected to AJ... almost. One profile to connect a marrage to that was protected and I'll have to wait for the update to be approved. Once that's done, Gwynne should connect up to AJ. Now the hard part of going back through and adding all the documentation...

I'll wait on the formal approval, but the connection I need to make at this point is:

Sprague-2469 is married to Watson-1468. As soon as that connection is made, I can check to see how many steps Mr. Gwynne is from AJ. Need approval from LivingTowne at this stage.

Many of those in the list are dead, so Bela should be fair game to add (provided the list owner is OK with adding him).

Question related to getting that last link in place: is it normal to have the editing locked on a profile from the 1800's? I'm just confused as to why I can't add that husband wife relationship to Watson-1468, and curious if this is a configuration issue or if this is just a normal "lock" that you can and should use from time to time on the profiles you manage to keep them from being edited. If I'm asking a stupid question, please let me know.

technically Scott its up to your preference theres no requirement about it having to be open versus public besides being 200 years old must be open. Ones from 1814 an earlier must be open. its  a setting you can use, but no one, but the manager can really decide if they should.

Thanks, Matt! I'm so new around here that I'm still learning the ropes. I'm sure I'll get it figured out eventually. Every system has its little quirks and such that you pick up over time.

OK - I think I have to wait for the links to build, but I suspect I've got Mr. Vincent Price connected. We'll see after the links are in place, but where the connection was made, the wife is 17 steps from AJ, so there might be another 10 steps from there to VP. We'll see...

Woo! Thanks to Living Towne, Mr. Gwynne is now connected (albeit a long connection) to AJ.

And I was able to find a bit of a shorter path to Mr. Vincent Price as well. Still need to work a bit on the documentation, but making them "living" profiles is often where a lot of the more interesting parts seem to come in. Doing the updates to Dorothy Ficken (Fred Gwynne's mom) was very interesting and she had her 15 minutes of fame as well. Not sure I'll take another one of these one for the moment until I've got the current new profiles cleaned up a bit.
