G2G: Hucbald (Dillengen) Dillingen and his wife need some tender loving care

Hucpald or Hupold I from the Hupaldinger family and his wife need some attention:

  • His LNAB is listed as "Dillengen", there never was such a thing, the town is called Dillingen, or in contemporary records Dilinga in Latin. He is called Graf von Dillingen und Donauwörth in some sources and the founding member of the Hupaldinger family. Most appropriate LNAB should in my opinion be Hupaldinger.
  • His parents could be discussed and probably added as uncertain.
  • His wife is listed as Schwaben as LNAB. She is generally considered a member of the Hunfridinger or Burchardinger family. Cawley has her as daughter of Burchard, Hiebl and others as sister. Therefore either her father or her brother became Herzog of Schwaben with no indication that she ever went by that name. In my opinion her LNAB should be Burchardinger.
  • Her parentage should be discussed and probably entered, if needed as uncertain.
  • She certainly does not appear to be the mother of Pope Leo IX as noted in her biography stub.

The name "Dillengen" appears to be nothing more that a typo when the profile was renamed from "von DILLINGEN". It was imported from a massive Gedcom without sources and does not appear to have been touched since (if you except the unfortunate rename and some tinkering from EditBot).

This was 12 days ago and there were no comments, so I fixed the profile.
