While researching the descendants of a man formerly enslaved by my ancestor and trying to connect them to the big tree (which I finally did!) I came across W. R. Shaver, the first husband of the wife of one of the descendants. He was a Deputy U.S. Marshal and was also the first City Marshal of Boley, Oklahoma. He was killed in the line of duty in 1905. In 2006, the part of highway 62 that runs through Boley was named after him. I realize that he probably doesn't meet the criteria for notability, but I thought the USBH project might be interested in his profile.
