G2G: I would like to know the surname of Chesley Lodge's first wife Beatrice??

Question

Chesley Lodge 1888-1965 born in Catalina, Newfoundland was married twice. His second  wife was Beatrice ??? They had at least 4 children ie Lottie, Phyllis,Reginald and Clayton. Obviously since they had at least 4 children they had been together for some time. Beatrice shows up in several newfoundland censuses but never with her family name. Without her family nameit is impossible to determine when she was born or when she died. My primary goal is to determine Beatrice's full name but if there is some history for Phyllis, Reginald and Clayton that would be a bonus. I have quite a lot of detail on Lottie Greta Lodge 1930-2008. Since Lottie was the eldest and she was born in 1930 we have to assume that Chesley married Beatrice shortly after his first wife Lucy Bath died in 1924.  Hopefully someone can help me , please. I will work on it for you. Reginald died on March 23, 2022. His service was held at Bethany United Church, Catalina. His brother Clayton was included in the service.

Hi John,

In the 1945 census Beatrice is listed as being from Trinity South District and as have being born around 1909.

Cross referencing that information with the communities of Trinity South has gotten me 7 candidate Beatrice's who were all born between 1907-1912.

Beatrice Strong - Brownsdale

Beatrice Rockwood - Heart's Content

Beatrice Piercy - Heart's Content

Beatrice Thorn - Whale's Brook

Beatrice Newhook - Norman's Cove

Beatrice Sulley - Whitbourne

Maybe it would be worth seeing where each of these women were in 1935 to see if they could possibly be the Beatrice you're searching for???

In 1928 Chesley was living in Port Union, according to the voter registration list for Bonavista East District. There was also a Beatrice living in that district. Her name was Beatrice Norman. This may be a more significant lead for you.
