G2G: Stuart James Smith b. 1935 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. m. Pamela Help in finding him.

Question

He was born in 1935 in the Newcastle upon Tyne area of England, married Pamela and emigrated to Canada.  I think his daughter was called Melanie.  He is my wife's Uncle and I am trying to find him.  He had a brother Donald Alexander Smith

Stuart's birth registered 3rd quarter 1935 in Tynemouth, mother's maiden name Millen. FreeBMD entry.

Donald's birth was registered in 2nd quarter 1926 in Tynemouth. FreeBMD entry.

The only possible marriage I see is in Yarmouth in 3rd quarter 1964 to Pamela Gates. FreeBMD entry. But that is some distance from Newcastle.

Do you know when he emigrated, or if he might have married in Canada?

Thank you very much. My wife confirms that they did get married in Yarmouth. I believe they had a daughter and then emigrated to Canada. We think the daughter was called Melanie but this might be incorrect.

I don't know when he moved to Canada but it initially was before 1975.  He came back to the UK for a shirt time around 1975 but I don't then know when he returned to Canada

Thanks, Matthew.  I had seen that before, but the conflict was the names of the daughters.  My wife thinks that one was called Melanie, which does not align with the article.

Kinda has to be him I think - isn't there only one birth reg in that timeframe under that name in the vicinity of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne? Order the cert from GRO to check if a different birthdate I guess.
