Do you have any further information? A Spouse, Siblings, Where might they have lived or been Born /Died /Married ?

I have a John J. Hagerman m. to Sarah Terry with 9 children, among whom is a John Clark Hagerman who m. Annabelle Campbell, Is that the one?

Allen had emailed me as I am profile manager for a Hegeman.  He had said he was looking for parents of John J. Hagerman who was married to Sarah Terry and had a son named John Clark.

I found them as well on family search.

There is even a nice family photo!

Family search has the parents listed as William D Hagerman (1756–1835) and Sarah Silvernail Jones (1762–1838).

Yeah definitely some further research required on this one, looking at the family search profile there are many children with the same birth years.  I suspect two different John Joseph Hagerman profiles were merged when they were really cousins or something.

Also on the parents, why were they married in 1780 but did not have any children until 1799?  Seems strange for the times.

Erik, do you mean William and Sarah weren't married till 1780?  What is the documentation? I have that they were married by 1774, had 15 children of which I have names for only 4: Elizabeth A., Abraham, Henry H. & Jefferson.  My reference for this family is a manuscript "The Hegeman Family of Flatbush, by Laurence L. Driggs, nd, p.53.  Have no idea who the parents are of John J. Hagerman., but I assume either his or wife's maternal line may have been a Clark?, but can't find any that fit.

Hi James,

Well the 1780 marriage date for William and Sarah is just from Family Search with no sources to back it up.  Though the profile does have a full residence history for William so someone somewhere knows something, they just didn't list any sources.

Jan Hageman and Margaurita Clerck married 1650, cant trace this couple through children to see

We are told Dutchess County, NY married 1819 to Sarah "Sally" Terry, in 1819, First child John Clark Hagerman, Had a child George died as a child Last name spelled Hageman. John J son of Evert Hagerman born 1799, Isaac and William Hageman both with sons born named John (I have seen both brothers listed but usually one or the other) John J born Nov 17,  1799 (back date by counting back from age of death on his tombstone) He shows up with connections to William and Sallys family which lends me to think a connection, Cline Hagerman believes he was an orphan child of a brother or uncle of William's due to a story told in his family, of course he could be a brother cousin to Willam or we could have had dates wrong.

His oldest is named John Clark, next Samuel Terry Hagerman (Sally's Father), Then Joseph, William (which should be Paternal Grand fathers, then named after Sally's brothers, then Calvin, George and Job (I have no idea of those names) Daughter Sarah, Martha Tennah

If the John Hageman you are asking about was born in Janosi, Baranya, Hungary, this might be the right person, but if he was born somewhere else, what country, county and city was he born in?

The 1799 birth year helps, but do you have his marriage year and name of spouse?

Thank you.
