You can try applications for Sons of the American Revolution. One of her descendants, Herbert Gerhard, files under her name. Check Lauer men who served from Berks,PA. Possibly Major Johann Christian Lauer.

The problem with Johann Christian Lauer is that he has another child born the same year. Could be twins, I suppose?  JCL is very well documented due to his group keeping a diary of their crossing and his sisters' marriages to Thiess and Ruth. There is no mention of Salome.

This doesn't answer your question, but found this on her husband:

John Peter Gerhard, who came to America in 1764, gave a
long line of descendants to the Hain's Congregation. His home-
stead was the farm until lately owned by Adam Gerhart, with the
large farm adjoining owned by Edwin G. Ruth (tenanted by Jo-
seph Sheidy) , and the land comprised in the tract owned by John
Gerhard (tenant, Clyde Schell). The present barn on the Adam
Gerhart farm was built by the ancestor Peter, though this tract
was not his first homestead in America. The Arbogast family
was the first owner of these hills and meadows later tilled by the
Gerharts. The name is mentioned in the earlier baptismal rec-
ords of the Hain's Congregation, but is now extinct in the neigh-
borhood. The family in early times married into the Reber
family.
