G2G: Is there a pre-1500 certified member who can correct the ancestry of the 1st Earl of Stirling?

http://landedfamilies.blogspot.com/2013/10/80-alexander-of-menstrie-earls-of.html records the line to William B. Sterling, the Earl of Stirling correcting some of the death dates that were incorrectly posted in Burke's.  Some of the names of purported ancestors seem to be confused with brothers, etc.

William Alexander has a DNB article, I think that was Nick's main source & it discusses his various birth dates and specifically picks b. 1577. I'll look it over for other inaccuracies.

I fixed his bio - there were 4 wrong children as well, I gather this is the same problem with his ancestors, which Landed Families' pedigrees will give the Scotland proj. some guidance. He has an extensive biography in Scots Peerage v.8 starting on p. 170 (with b. 1567 instead of 1577).

The,Scotland Project is working on the Stirling lines as I type this.  

We are not ready to work on this person but there are more issues than dates.  Please hold up on this.   If you have any information please send it to me and I will add it to the growing collection of Stirling research.

Yes it was me but I have no idea why it showed up as anonymous as I was logged in...  wonder if it makes a difference if I post a response from my phone vs my computer.   Yes this is Pennie-22 Laura ...   so sorry it did not post as me!!!

This line is full of twists and turns with many of the experts disagreeing with each other.

Doug Straiton has done a marvelous job on the Stirling family lines.  While there was at least one POM charter that had the Alexander Family and the Stirling Family in them, we did not find a direct link as yet.
