G2G: Who are the parents of Alexander Stewart and Robert Stewart? (1600s era)

I have 2 uncertain branches in my family tree, and I was wondering if anyone had any credible sources, or could direct me where to find credible sources for the parents of:

Alexander Stewart (b. 1674 in Ballymena, Ireland, d. 1742 in East Haddam, CT)

and

Robert Stewart (b. 1650 in Scotland, d. 1732 Voluntown, CT)

I feel as though I've scoured the internet, and the only sources I can find, that list their parentage, is the Find-A-Grave Index that lists:

Robert and Jennett Rogers (1655-1754) as Alexander's parents, and

Rev Andrew (1620 England - 2 Jan 1671 Ireland) and Sarah Bennett (1630-?) as Robert's parents.

I know that Rev. Andrew did flee to Scotland around 1650 due to his issues with Charles I, so that would line up with Robert's 1650 Scotland birth.  Also, Alexander and Robert both immigrated to America (Alexander in 1716 and Robert in 1726) and they both died in CT, so there is a context connection between them.  But, since there were SO MANY Alexander, Robert, and Andrew Stewarts at that time, it's hard to know if I'm chasing the most accurate leads.

I'm not sure if I'm just not looking the right place, or don't have the necessary accesses, but any assistance would be genuinely appreciated!

Hi Marcia,

Do you think they were Scottish exiles? That would help determine where to look for them.

The ship Susannah came over with Scottish exiles in 1716, but your ancestors wouldn’t be on this ship unless they were Jacobite exiles:
