Hello! Private Adam Rabenhold was a War of 1812 Veteran in the Hamilton's Rifle Regiment Pennsylvania Militia. I was wondering how I should categorize this, and how to add a template for him :) thank you

It was thinking that the following should be a great start...

{{War of 1812|branch=Pennsylvania|units=1st Rifle Regiment (Hamilton's), Pennsylvania Volunteers|rank=Private}}

... Good Luck! :-)

Where did you come up with that name? None of the existing categories has "volunteers" in the name, so this can't be correct. Do you have a link?

I went to the following link...

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:War_of_1812

... and selected the following link labeled "Parameter usage on profiles" for various usages/examples.

https://www.softdata.si/wt/Templ_20201122/Template_War_of_1812_Txt.htm

My response was for a "start" and I didn't state that it was a "fact". Just trying to lend a hand.

Is there a category for that unit? Please look at the category names for the PA militia in War of 1812 and see the naming scheme. These things take some research sometimes.

This is a list:https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Pennsylvania%2C_War_of_1812

He may be 2nd Regiment, if you look at the list, but not 100% sure.
