I've created profiles for two soldiers Simeon Granderson+Charles Granderson who served in Col. Seth Warner's Continental Regiment and I want to categorize them as such. In my limited understanding of who the "Green Mountain Boys" were, that name only applies to their pre-Revolutionary militia/anti-NY activity. Please correct me if I am wrong. Are soldiers who served in Warner's Regiment from 1777-1780 "Green Mountain Boys", or is there a better regimental category for Simeon and Charles?
It looks like the regiment is better called the Green Mountain Continental Rangers at that time. See John J. Duffy, Ralph H. Orth and Samuel B. Hand, The Vermont Encyclopedia (University Press of New England; 2003), p. 144.https://www.google.com/books/edition/The_Vermont_Encyclopedia/uTBCXqOou0YC?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=%22green+mountain+continental+rangers%22&pg=PA144&printsec=frontcover
It talks about how Ethan Allen and Seth Warner raised that regiment in 1775, largely from men that had previously served in the Green Mountain Boys.
