My maternal grandfather, Gilbert Harold Enold, was born here in Ohio, USA on 25 Aug 1907, and died 23 Apr 1958. His father was Heinrich "Henry" Jacob Enold, born in Harleysville, PA, USA on 13 Sept 1882, and died 6 May 1931. Henry's father, my 2x G Grandfather was Ernst "Ernest" Theodore Enold, born 1 July 1843 in Freiberg, Konigreich, Sachen, and died in Ohio, 31 Jan 1914. Ernst appears to have travelled alone to the US, leaving Bremen, Germany on 10 Jan 1866 on the Laura, according to the NY Passengers' List:  E Th Enold - Age 22 - Mainer - Saxon - Halifax. His death certificate states that his father's name was Carl and mother's name "unknown".  Since the Lutheran Church is where we (my sister and I) were raised, and several other family members were baptized there, I'm going to say that going back, this is where that all began. I have received some help from a Facebook group, who mentioned looking on Archion, but that they don't have the protestant records from Freiberg yet. But to contact the archie of the protestant church on Saxony, "they do have the relevant church books". I have no clue as to how to go about this. She also mentioned that the Enold name "is very localized to Saxony, so all Enolds are probably related". Any assistance is greatly appreciated! Thanking you in advance.

That is correct. At the moment the Protestant curch books from Freiberg in Sachsen are not online avaible on archion.

You may write to the State church archive of the Protestant-Lutheran curch of Sachsen and ask where the books are stored. Normally they are stored in the parish district archive, but some churches have them still stored in their parish archive. The address you find here:

https://www.archion.de/de/archive-in-archion/sachsen/landeskirchenarchiv-der-evang-luth-landeskirche-sachsens/

Or you write direct to the Kirchenbezirk Freiberg; the address is here:

https://kirchenbezirk-freiberg.de/kirchenbezirk/ueber-uns

See at that page at the bottom.
