G2G: Transcribe German Documents...Trying to find Caroline and Karl

I can't figure out where Caroline Sasse & Karl Buccholz are from.  I have 4 images attached to Emil Buchholz (they have nothing to do with Emil.  Just trying to find caroline and carl)

Maria Bertha mentions being born in Kutzdorf

Carl Freid's image shows the father as karl buch then a long word I don't understand then zicher followed by carolines info.

This is my brick wall, is there anyone that can help knock out a brick or two?  It's confusing because sometime Brandenburg is in Germany and other times Poland...??  I think.

I think Tischlermeister or master carpenter. The next word is “zu”, which would be followed by a place name. I am working on that …

In Ludwig’s document it looks like Carl is from Zicker. There are three places in Pomeranian with this name:

Zicker 1) Pomm.
D. (with Kol. Weinberge)
Zicker, Neustettin, Köslin, Pommern, Preussen

Zicker 2)
D. (Village)
Zicker, Greifenberg, Stettin, Pommern, Preussen

Zicker 3)
Rg. (Landed Estate)
Zicker, Rügen, Stralsund, Pommern, Preussen

On the other place, the one after “Tischlermeister zu …” I am not having success. All I can say is I am pretty sure it begins with G.

I looked at the maps with Zicker, but did not see a town that matched.

I would read

In Buchholz-566.png: Birth place Kutzdorf; father Karl Buchholz, master carpenter.

In Buchholz-566-1.png: The father Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Buchholz, master carpenter in Gunetichen(?).

In Buchholz-566-2.png: The father Carl Buchholz, master carpenter in Zicker.

In Buchholz-566-3.png: Birth place Kutzdorf(?); father Karl (?) Friedrich(?) Buchholz(?) in Zether(?)

1st) can you link the originals? Maybe the quality is better.

2nd) From which places are the documents?

Hello,

looking at your earlier posts, the place name is Zicher, not Zicker - https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/21225029  is near Kutzdorf and Zorndorf.

Can the ?Gunetichen? place be https://s.meyersgaz.org/search?search=Quartschen ? Please compare the first letter with the Gottfrieds on the right side of the page - looks different to me.

I suggest you create profiles for the family Karl Buchholz & Caroline Sasse [https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/GN2F-CM1] and add your sources there - this will make the situation clearer. You can crossreference the entry of Emil Buchholz in the notes and mention you assume a family connection based on the DNA results.

The records on familysearch/ancestry only show some random children that have moved away. There must be more, among them maybe a daughter Mary/Maria - but without the church records you cannot find them.

Maybe add the categories [[Category: Powiat myśliborski, województwo zachodniopomorskie]] and [[Category: Königsberg (Neumark) (Kreis), Brandenburg]] to your questions to find specialists for this area?

Is ?Gunetichen? = Quartschen ?

In those German documents they switch between the German Kurrent and the Latin Script. Normally names and locations in Script and the text in Kurrent. But sometimes a mix in the same word.

"Gottfried" is written in Script, but the mentioned location is written in Kurrent.

The Q should be different in both writings. But in hand-writing there can be variations. My letters are different to those of my wife. laugh

Maybe it is Quartichen It's hard for me to read Quartschen.

But Quartschen = Chwarszczany is near Gudzisz = Kutzdorf.
