I have been working on Hungarian records for my family which came from Szepes area of Hungary in the late 1800s to the coal mines of Pennsylvania. I am wondering if anyone knows whether the Roman Catholic records list women at their death with their maiden name or married name?
Thank you in advance.

Depends on the specific language or community: in German- or Slovak-speaking ones, there's a pretty good chance it's her husband's name, while in Hungarian contexts, the chance of that is much lower. When the records are in Latin (like most Catholic records for most of the 1800s), it can be very difficult to determine which tradition/practice was being followed.
For whatever it's worth, the 1881 census (
https://library.hungaricana.hu/hu/view/NEDA_1881_02/?pg=276&layout=s
) says that Laczkova had 581 people; 16 of them spoke German for their mother tongue, 533 spoke Slovak, and 32 could not (yet) speak.

(Note that in this case, "German" probably actually meant "Yiddish", because I'm sure it's not coincidence that 16 of the residents were Jewish.)
