G2G: Family name of Elizabeth spouse of William Littledyke married 1718/9 at Hougham, Lincolnshire [closed]

Question

There are two records of marriage of William to Elizabeth at Hougham All Saints, Lincolnshire on the FreeREG website.

Elizabeth Slipe, marriage date 03 Jun 1718. There seem to be no extant records of the birth of Elizabeth Slipe,

Elizabeth Lane , Marriage date 13 Jan 1719. There is a baptismal record for Elizabeth Lane at Long Bennington, some 4 3/4 miles from Hougham.

Can anyone locate birth records for Elizabeth Slipe, or provide records that determine which Elizabeth married William Littledyke at Hougham, bearing in mind the distance that a young woman of childbearing age will have moved home at about 1715.

Hi Nick,

Have you looked at the original register images for Hougham. The importance of doing that can never be overestimated. The easiest source to view is on FindMyPast. However, that requires a subscription. The register images are, though, available on the Lincolnshire Archives web site, albeit that the response is extremely slow, if it manages it at all... This is the page you want.
I looked at the image on FMP. It is difficult to read. What that tells me is that there is only one marriage. The surname of Elizabeth is particularly difficult. However, I'd say it is not "Slipe". It does begin with "S" and end with "E". I haven't managed to decipher the two or three letters in between.
The date is also difficult to read. I'm pretty sure its June. And there is a "3". But as to whether there is a "1" or an "e", I can't tell. I'd probably go with 3 June 1718.
Note that there are no marriages for 1719 (and none for the period Jan 1 to Mar 25 in 1718 Julian dating).
The two different FreeREG transcriptions are because there are two images of the register. Both have been transcribed.

You can view single entries on FMP by paying for that one reference without a subscription, but it is only the transcript, there is no original image with this one.

I was not aware of the Lincolnshire archive.  It denied me access, apart from poor scans of the register made illegible by water marks.

If any one can get easy/free access to the page of the parish register, could they perhaps upload an image to the profile.  Don't worry about cropping it and so on, I can do that.

The name is Elizabeth Lanes who married William Littledyke in Houghton on 13 Jun 1718 he was married twice before

Elizabeth's surname is 'Lune', looking at the original register her surname begins with the same letter as William's - an L with a long tail.

The marriage date is definitely June 1718 (listed between an April marriage and one in September), the date could be either 3rd or 30th.
