G2G: Source Page for Hobart's Journal (Hingham, Mass. Vital Records)

Question

I created a free space source page for this journal which was published in volume 121 of the NEHG Register.

It's an important source of vital records for the earliest settlers of Hingham, Massachusetts-- records not otherwise available.

Unfortunately (unless someone else can find otherwise), it's only available to members of NEHGS.

Use and modify as you see fit.

Familysearch has Hobart's Journal online -- when I saw your posting, I went exploring and found it, as Familysearch seems to have scans of almost all or all the extant Massachusetts vital record manuscripts.  Takes a little cleverness to navigate to them, though.

They just don't catalog it as "Hobart's Journal"; it's part of their Massachusetts town clerk collection.

(Note that they do have a microfiche-only request-to-view-at-local-center copy catalogued explicitly as Hobart's Journal, just to make matters more confusing.)

The raw data files are brutal; I can't figure out how to search just the Hingham portion.

Also, while the title says the records start at 1635, I don't see anything before the 1660s...
