The ancestry of Old Hop is unknown. He was the uncle of Attacullaculla and Willenawa, but his parents have not been identified.

Hi Shelly!

Thanks for posting here.

In addition to your question here, you might also want to  send a private message to the profile manager Chris Smith, using the "Send Private Message" link that's next to his name on the profile.

Your post here is to the public G2G forum, where Chris might not notice it, making it less likely to get a response. A private message would be sent through WikiTree directly to Chris' email making him much more likely to see it and perhaps respond.

Thanks!

Hi there.  I believe Chief Hop Old Standing Turkey Moytoy is the brother of Oconostota Cunne Moytoy "The Groundhog Sausage", who is my 10th great grandfather.  Their father is Amadohiyi Pidgeo Tellico Moytoy.  His father is Amatoya Moytoy.  His father is Thomas Pasmere Carpenter, a white man from England who came here and ran off with Pride Chalakatha Cornstalk (from what I have been able to gather through research).  Her mother is Cleopatra Powhatan, a sister to Pocohantas!  I hope this helps!

Unfortunately, This lineage has no basis in historical fact and appears to originate in a late 19th-mid 20th century fabricated genealogy. Sorry.

Is Nathanal female? The chief is a male...so not sure how it would work otherwise. Also the last name is Moytoy.

Old Hop was Son of Amatoya Moytoy, "Rainmaker I"; his native name was Kana-gotoga. His mother was Quatsy of Tellico, and Kana-gotoga or Old Hop married SuGi of Tellico Wolf Clan, also known as "Sookie". they had a daughter who was later called "Granny Hopper". She might have been the one married to a Nathaniel.

This information is not really well documented, but I hope to remedy that soon with research from sites like wikitree. (I wouldn't necessarily pay to join Ancestry just to view a tree, just go with the free membership - other sites are more professional. What I mean is, that Ancestry doesn't account for Matri-archical lineage, and that gets confusing to people trying to trace their tree on a site like Ancestry that wants a father' last name - Native people just aren't named like that).

Hope this helps,
