G2G: Are you interested in joining the ANZAC Project?

Question

The mission of the ANZAC Project is to honour the lives of Australians and New Zealanders who were ANZACs and to commemorate the ANZAC Spirit: Aussies and Kiwis displaying the qualities of gallantry, perseverance, resilience and selflessness, which soldiers exemplified firstly on the battlefields of Gallipoli. Recording the experiences, hopes, fears, in the midst of chaos and bloodshed highlights that ANZAC Spirit. In this way, the ANZAC Project reaches beyond the actual ANZACs, to include those Aussies and Kiwis who have served in theatres beyond the ANZACs; the sailors, airmen, nurses, and others who may not have seen action.

The Anzacs project intersects with other Military & War Projects, namely The Great War 1914-1918 Project, World War Two Project, Korean War Project, and Vietnam War Project. 

Our desire is to have well sourced profiles, not just of the ANZAC's, but also those of their families. 

To join the ANZAC Project:

1) You must have been a member of WikiTree for at least a month.

2) You must have signed the Honor Code.

3) You must have made at least 100 contributions to WikiTree.

I had an uncle who served in WW1 and WW2 and returned from both. Another uncle died on Sandakan death march.

Hello Ben. One of the requirements is that you have 100 contributions which at time of writing you only have 1. So I can not add you to the project yet but I will be checking regularly to see when I can.

I have done a lot of research into one of the nursing sisters who survived the sinking of the Marquette, Mary Gordon Grigor. LINK

I will add more to her profile, and I will work on creating profiles for others in my tree who have an ANZAC connection.

I would like to join.  My grandfather, Trooper James  Henderson Murray (Murray-6442) was a Light Horse member who was on Gallipoli for about August 1915 to the withdrawal.  My late father remembers his father telling him how they rigged the rifles to fire after they had withdrawn from the trenches and made a successful evacuation.  Dad also told me that the movie Gallipoli depicted the battlefield as his father had described it.

Thanks Darren - My grandfather was a First World War ANZAC wounded three times in the 38th Battalion, and I will build out his service history.

Then some of my uncles were in the Second World War.

I would like to join the project. My father, a born Kiwi, came to the UK with several others to train as a pilot, following an RAF recruitment drive in NZ, in 1937/8, was caught here by the war and went on to serve a full career in the RAF.

I have some in my tree that served in different wars and some that didnt see active service but were still in the military. I am including their service in their biography as update them. Does this qualify? Do we have to mention them anywhere in particular or give them banners?
