[[Turner-766|James Turner]] died on 21 Sep 1851 in Green, Kentucky. His wife [[Johnston-10379|Mary]] died a decade later on 21 Feb 1860. The documents that I found for his estate's appraisals, inventories, and sales in Mar 1861 only mention 'James Turner deceased', no mention of Mary. Was that customary in Kentucky in 1861 that estates were always in the name of the husband, even if he pre-deceased his wife by many years?
