Merry Christmas, Dieter! Here are two family Christmas photos.
This one is at the home of my paternal grandparents at 1263 Elmwood Avenue, in Buffalo New York in 1948, the year my parents married.
The second is at the home of my maternal grandparents at Grand Island, New York, in 1947 or 1948.
This is a Christmas photo taken in 1955 at the home of my husband's paternal grandparents. Audrey Nelson is helping Roi, who is only three. My husband Mike is eleven, and his sister Cindy is eight.
Last year when we took the kids to see Santa we waited in a long line and I got to see all the different reactions of the children, something you don't notice when you're the child. Today it's all about the photo with Santa. Back in 1956 it was about telling Santa your list.
This my great grandpa, Ted Siefert, holding a 6 month old me at Christmas 1965. I'm glad I got to spend the first 9 years of my life being around him. Merry Christmas!
Christmas in France, 1917. The man in the middle is holding a cat. The man seated on the right is John Mason, who later married my grandfather's sister Irene. Irene and John had no children, but Uncle John was always Santa Claus at church Christmas parties.

I like a black and white Christmas.....here I am going on one, or am I nearly two years old, in Victoria, B.C. I do, however, know the way to my house, as I'm pointing out to Santa. PS The photo posted by Mark Williams reminded me that my uncle was, also, a stage actor and his son, Rex, performed as Robbie, in the movie All Mine to Give, a touching part, of which, took place at Christmas. Here's my mother and grandmother at Christmas time. It looks like my mother had a little Christmas tree in her bedroom. She has always been a big lover of bears (to this day!), so I'm not surprised that there's a Christmas bear close at hand.
Betsy, it's great to get to know your mother and grandmother.....especially at this time of year.
I'd like to share with everyone my best present ever! This is my first grandbaby, Harper Sue, who is a whole 2 days old today! She's doing fine, as is her momma, and they're supposed to go home tomorrow.
