G2G: How does the Australia Project handle shipwrecks?

Question

There are at lease three profiles of people who drowned in the Dunbar shipwreck of 20 Aug 1857 on South Head, Sydney

There appears to be no relevant category for the Dunbar as an immigrant ship 

How are immigrant ships which foundered before they arrived at their intended final destinations in the colonies, managed in terms of categories and stickers?

postscript: I just saw that there is a category https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Shipwrecks I assume that if there were a sub-category for the Dunbar that  personal profiles would be categorized to it... so next question. How do we arrange for a Sub-Category to be created (and by whom)? I notice that both "Wrecked" and "Lost" are used ... What is the difference? and where is relevant guidance on that issue?

Hi Neil, I've done a few of those for Australian shipwrecks, I use Wrecked (there is no guidelines). 

There'll be minimal info on the category page, similar to an actual voyage, and everything else on a linked free space page. An example is Neva.

You can add a request for ANY Australian category (including shipwrecks!) to our Australia Project category request page, just add it to the "Ships" section. It would be very appropriate to create a FSP for Dunbar (I remember the memorial at South Head) and it can be linked to the category page, like the Neva.

My notes on the Shipwrecks along the Illawarra Coastline of NSW Australia - a number of which were associated with loss of lives

1829 - The first fatal shipwreck of Illawarra would appear to be the Foxhound in 1829, off Coalcliff, where all hands, including Barrett, Cullen and Thomas White (Whyte), were lost – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. A full list of those aboard has never been able to determined.
