Hi Joan

I am happy to continue in the Kent team.

I enjoy connecting profiles and that is a bit of a speciality of mine. I have been trying to reduce the number of profiles managed by https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sutcliffe-770 but he keeps on adding more! Currently there are 1225 unconnected, with over 500 in Kent alone and at least 58 added last week.

I also enjoy a competition from time to time.

Best wishes Frances

That's great Frances, Thank you for all the work you are doing.

Hi Frances,

It's that time of the year again: check-in time! As England Project Leaders, we like to check in with you every six months or so to see how things are progressing. Back in May, we didn't ask for a response due to the rapid emergence of Covid-19 because we understood that people's lives were changing rapidly. While we are still living in a Covid world, we do need to hear back from you this time around

First of all, how are you doing? What are you currently working on? Are you happy with the team(s) you're in, or would you like to change things up?

Secondly, we're looking for some feedback on the Google Group and our Discord server. Do you use either or both of these? If you don't use either, why not? Do you have any suggestions on how we can improve participation and collaboration, either generally or for you personally?

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Amy, Joan & Lizzie.

Thanks for tidying up Rebecca Reeves, I am very grateful when people do this, but I have put the links to Findmypast back in again because even if no one else finds the link useful it helps me if I need to recheck anything and just a simple reference to the census date and town is probably not a sufficient source by Wikitree standards. I think it is a scandal that what should have been a public resource was sold off to private companies but we are where we are. People who use public libraries can view the censuses free as most libraries have a subscription and you yourself should be able to look at the 1881 census at any time since that is supposed to be free to everyone.

All the best,

David.

Thank you for your email. I have just joined the England project and have started working on Orphans. The trouble is that I am getting distracted by lots of other interesting areas, including my own family tree! I need to concentrate more on post 1937 orphans first.

I do have a few pre-1700 ancestors that I could look at st some stage - the Wyatts of Weeford.

Frances, do you happen to speak any other languages? Would you check out our languages template and add it to your biography? For example you might add

{{ Languages | en | fr-2 | ga-1 }}

to the top of your biography if you speak English natively, intermediate French and basic Irish, or you could use de-4 to specify near-native German or ru-1 for basic Russian, and so forth up to ten languages.

It really helps to know who speaks all the different languages used on WikiTree! If you only speak English, you're very welcome to use this text to make that clear:

{{ Languages | en }}
