Hallo en van harte welkom!

Wat de reden ook is dat je bij ons bent uitgekomen. Je bent van harte welkom.

Om je aan te sluiten bij het Netherlands project plaats je je antwoord onder dit bericht. Het is leuk als je daarin iets meer vertelt over je genealogische interesses. Er reageert altijd wel iemand die je de weg kan wijzen binnen wikitree. Weet je nog niet zoveel over hoe wikitree werkt dan raad ik aan de volgende pagina’s te bekijken. De meeste zijn naast het Engels ook beschikbaar in het Nederlands:

•    Dutch naming convention    
•   Wikitree pre-1700 profiles     
•   Netherlands Pagina's  

Hoe verder na het plaatsen van je antwoord:

•  Kopieer en plak deze categorie : [[Category:Netherlands_Project]] links bovenin je eigen biografie zodra je de badge hebt. Het geeft je een link naar de Netherlands Pagina’s    
• Doe de pre-1700 Self Certificate quiz (als je die nog niet gedaan hebt)    
• Voeg Netherlands toe aan de tags die je volgt  (zie Communicatie)    
• En mocht je wat tijd over hebben en mee willen helpen in het project, kijk dan op de DRP pagina om een indruk te krijgen van waar je aan mee kunt helpen. Onze regionale teams kunnen altijd hulp gebruiken

To become a member of the Netherlands Project  just place your answer beneath this post. It would be great if you tell something about genealogiscal interests in your answer. Someone will give you an answer and show you the way on wikitree if you want it. If you are not well acquinted with the way Wikitree works, or with  the way Dutch profiles need to be created, you can read more about it on the following pages:

How to proceed after you have placed your aswer:

• Do the pre-1700 Self Certificate Quiz (in case you haven’t done it yet)
• Add Netherlands to the tags you ar following on G2G (see Communication)
• Send a request to join the Dutch Roots Project's Google Group
• And in case you have some spare time you’d like to spend on the project, have a look at the Netherlands-page to see where helping hands are welcome. The regional teams can always use more members.

@Frank: I noticed quite a lot of your profiles have just a family tree on Familysearch as a source but I trust you will be adding primary sources to those in the future.

Ik zou graag meedoen met het Netherlands Project. Sommige van mijn voorouders zijn inmiddels via het project in wikitree opgenomen en verbonden met degene die door mij zijn ingevoerd. Als deelnemer van het project kan ik makkelijker verdere kinderen en ouders toevoegen. Familienamen die vooral voorkomen zijn Schmidt - Haringhuizen - Mol.

Deze G2G post was al gesloten, maar ik zag toevallig jouw reactie voorbij komen. Inmiddels is helaas het Netherlands project min of meer volledig ter ziele. Er is nog een coördinator die je wellicht zou kunnen bereiken over het project en dat is Coen Dijkgraaf.

Echter het niet langer meer hebben van een goed lopend project zou jou niet moeten weerhouden om gewoon lekker op WT te doen wat je wilt en de vragen te stellen waar je een antwoord op zoekt.

Mocht je hulp nodig hebben gewoon vragen stellen en er is altijd wel iemand uit Nederland die je wil helpen. Aan jouw familie namen te zien kom je uit Noord-Holland, vermoedelijk tussen Hoorn en Alkmaar vandaan.

Maar lid van het Netherlands project ben al sinds november vorig jaar, dus niets weerhoudt je om verder binnen het project aan de slag te gaan!

Hallo Jan,

Lid zijn van het project was blijkbaar niet voldoende om kinderen toe te voegen aan Tol-19. Coen maakte me eerst member of the trusted list. Dat hielp ook niet. Daarna heeft hij me manager gemaakt en nu heb ik een kind aan Tol-19 kunnen toevoegen.

Hi Ruud,

Inderdaad, het profiel is Project Protected (overigens om onduidelijke redenen, er is m.i. geen extra bescherming nodig). De oorspronkelijke opvoerder van dit profiel, Enno Borgsteede, is min of meer verjaagd van WikiTree, en heeft nu haar gegevens (8 kinderen!) o.a. op Geneanet.

Ik zie ook geen reden waarom het PPP heeft.  Ik heb gevraagd om het te verwijderen.

Hi I'd like to join the Netherlands project. I have ancestry in the West Indies/Dansk Vestindien - St. Thomas and Sint Eustatius in the 1800s and 1900s.

Surnames: Lampris, Collins, Mars, Heyliger

Welcome to the Netherlands project!! As you probably already know only St. Eustatius is and has been a part of the kingdom of the Netherlands. The archives can be found on the site of the dutch National Archive and the birth, marriage and death record can be found on line on Whowaswho/wiewaswie 

I will give you the project badge. Please do the pre-1700 test. If you have any questions or need translations, just ask them on G2G and add the tag Netherlands to the question. Have lots of fun on Wikitree!!

Hello! I've got some WikiTree experience already following up my heritage across the UK, British India, the Caucuses, and elsewhere - and now I'm turning my attention to my Dutch heritage. One ancestral line of mine were labourers in Noord Brabant, and I'll be looking to research and create some entries to connect them up to the wider tree. I've read the project page and the naming conventions.

Welcome on the Netherlands project. I will add the projectbadge in a short while.Glad to heart you read the dutch naming convention. It's very important to adhere to it when creating profiles for dutch ancestors. I'm also glad to hear you know how WikiTree works and how important sources are. Lucky enough the Duth sources are good and plentifull. Especially the period 1811- till now. Only the privacy laws are quit strict All births younger than 100 years, marriages younger than 75 years and Deaths younger than 50 years are not online. A good source is Wiewaswie (translatable to Whowaswho) and an alternative is Open archive. If you just need to go to one province - like Noord-Brabant - the provincial and regional archives  are quite good.(you can find them on the already renewed source pages for the Netherlands) I hope you  added the tag Netherlands to the ones you are following. That way you get all the G2G messages on the subject. And if you have a question you can ask it in G2G (add the tag Netherlands) on discord on our own channel or on our own discord server for which one you will be invited if you want to. Be very carefull with gedcoms. Most of the time they give you more trouble than it gains you time and effort. I would advice against it.

We are quite an active group of WikiTreers in the middle of the process of turning the project around. So the project pages will change quite a lot in the near future. But the sources pages are ready and the naming convention won't change it's content.

Hoi!

I would like to join the Dutch Roots/Netherlands project, as I have to work on ancestors in the Utrecht (Vliet, Oudewater, Woerden) area, and I'm inevitably going to have to work on some profiles there. I have found a small issue with one of the father/son relationships where it doesn't match the typical Dutch naming convention, so I am looking into it at the moment, but really looking to see how far back I can prove the Dutch lines.

Welcome to the Netherlands project!  I see that your Dutch Ancestors left the Netherlands quite a few years ago. In your personal tree I noticed that the earliest generations on the Van Vliet line don't have proper sources yet. Before you try to get back even further, concentrate on getting good sources for those profiles so you can be sure you examine the right people. WikiTree is all about sourcing your information because ancestors so far back in time have to be shared by many descendants and by proofing them with sources disagreements can be prevented and avoided.

Hi, to improve and extend my family tree I would like to join the Dutch Roots Project. The family names I’m particulary interested in are Viddeleer and Andreoli. Andreoli originated in Italy. Some of them are living in the USA. With kind regards, André Viddeleer

Kan het kloppen dat je Nederlands bent en ik je in het Nederlands kan antwoorden? Zo niet dan hoor ik het wel. Ik zag dat je ouders in ieder geval Nederlanders zijn/waren. Zo te zien heb je da badge al sinds oktober 2019 toen we nog Dutch Roots project heetten. Dus die hoef ik je niet meer te geven. Mocht je zin hebben in meer communicatie en samenwerking met de andere projectleden dan raad ik je aan je aan te sluiten op de Discordserver.
