WikiTree Secret Santa Challenge 2022

This is the Free Space page for organizing the 2022 WikiTree Secret Santa Challenge !

The WikiTree Secret Santa Challenge will take place once again in 2022! Registration for wishes and to be an elf opened up as of Friday December 9th, and details were revealed on the Saturday LiveCast the next day. The deadline to sign up - either as an elf or to add your wish - was December 24th, 11:59pm EST (midnight)

The official beginning of the Secret Santa Challenge happens after the Mariah Carey Challenge of the Week is over, and will kick off with a Zoom meeting of all the Elves on Saturday December 24th. The challenge continues until January 6th, 2023 (midnight EST), and the results will be revealed on the Saturday LiveCast of January 7th, 2023.

Only marriage of John Carter the name on profile linked in Irchester seems to be to Hannah Danniels ^[1]. Nb bride and groom parish are both Knuston.

I looked at the military aspect of John's life, and determined his regiment. However, I could find no documentation relating to his joining the regiment. I looked at the conflation issue between the two John Carter families, and explained which marriage and death records belonged to which John Carter. I searched for the marriages given for the possible parent and grandparents for John. I could not find these marriages. Therefore, I am unable to refute or prove the candidacy for these parents. I found the full will and estate papers and a power of attorney document in the estate papers confirmed that this was the correct father. Interestingly, Thomas Beckley was left a windmill in his father's will. I add profiles for the father Daniel Beckley (abt.1765-1843) and a sister Catherine (Beckley) Emery (1812-1893), whose obituary gave Lebanon County, Pennsylvania as her birthplace (so likely where the family was before coming to Ohio). The will also named several other siblings.
