Hi Eric,

In some of my grandmothers things I found some photos. One is labeled Goldie Skeen. Another is labeled Mr. and Mrs. John Skeen Denton North Carolina. I am wondering if these are of Golda Skeen and her parents.

Hi Priscilla,

Very interesting! The profile for Golda (Skeen) Weddington is here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Skeen-245

Her parents are John and Edna (Snider) Skeen, here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Skeen-458 https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Snider-4565

They were definitely located in Denton, North Carolina. Is your grandmother related to these people? If it is confirmed that these are the right people, would you be interested in adding these photos to their WikiTree profiles? If you need help in doing so, you could also send me a Private Message and I can help you with the process, or you can send the photos to me and I can add them to WikiTree.

Thanks, Eric

Eric,

I think they were friends of my grandmothers. She was Violet Rice (Lewis) and lived in Massachusetts. I will check their profiles and would be glad to add the photos. I am not sure how to know if these photos are of them. Is there a way to contact Golda's daughter? I would be glad to send her the photos to verify if they are of her and her family.

Can I post the pictures here? Or email them to you to see if anyone recognizes them?
posted by Priscilla Hunter
Hi Priscilla,

Sorry for the delay in the reply. I don't know how to get in contact with Golda's daughter. You'll have to do some research to find her.

As to the photos, you can either send them to me via email (or Private Message me first), or you can attach the photos directly to the profiles of the people here.

Thanks for working on the Wiki tree. Great concept and this correction is outside any of my expertise or personal knowledge, so there's strength in adjusting and working together, unless some expertise or personal knowledge can inform the tree.

I was at the proverbial brick wall regarding my 3rd great grandfather. Sent private message to Eric and received an answer the next day. He was able to help me make changes to my Wiki family tree and give me some ideas of how to find my correct ancestor. Being a newbie doing genealogy research it can get confusing and intimidating.

It is great to have access to someone like Eric. He keeps our hopes up of finding that "lost" relative.

Hi Eric,

I am in the process of setting up a Fitz Randolph One Name Study, including a page on brickwalls. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:FR_Brickwalls A potential brickwall I spotted and have posted there looks to connected to your Samuel Fitz Randolph branch -- the general timing and locations certainly match. Can you take a look at Elizabeth Tipton née Randolph when you get a chance and see if (1) you share my opinion and (2) you have any tips on how she might fit in and what sources might be available? Thanks! Tom

posted by Thomas Randolph
Eric, Thanks for the source suggestion for the Fitz Randolph one name study -- I have shifted it to the 'Resources' research subpage. I realized that it isn't at all obvious how to navigate to get to the individual 'Research pages', so have added text to note that the Research page titles are links to those pages. I would really appreciate if you could at some point review what we have put on those various pages -- I'm sure it will spark some ideas! Thanks again!
posted by Thomas Randolph
Thanks for moving the source, Thomas! I looked after I posted it and realized that it probably should have gone elsewhere, but wasn't exactly sure which page it should have gone too. I just happened to find that source by accident. I was looking in that book at other entries and ran across Fitz Randolph. Hope it helps!

Eric,

I'm looking for the father of Thomas Jefferson Hall who married Arty Victoria Parrott Slone Hall. I was told it was Lilburn Hall but that just doesn't make sense.

Coincidentally, my maiden name is Weddington!

Hi Eric,

Thank you for adding Anna Tinsley Wolfe's child to her profile. This how we are related; Anna and Lucinda are fourth cousins twice removed. Anna (Tinsley) Wolfe and Lucinda (Roberson) Hawkes are both descendants of Isaac Tinsley. In the time of Isaac, he was very fair with his sons and daughters by dividing the land amoung all of them in his will.

Thanks for letting me know, Lucinda. Unfortunately, I am not related to the Tinsleys, but have added the information after email correspondence with a descendant.

G'day, Eric. I'm needing a wee bitty bit of assistance with "getting it right" regards the Freemasonry aspect of Nathaniel Willis's bio. Plus I don't think there is a category for his Lodge. Would you please take a look and correct any errors I may have introduced? Thankee, kindly.  :)

Eric, How??? did you come by "Lavina" as the correct spelling for my McCabe-1312 ? I had Lavinia, but you are correct.

So, If you have some mystical connection to her, do you know anything about the source and contents of her obit from the Eaton (Ohio) Register, which supposedly spelled her name Lavinia. I have not been able to find it online. Thanks for your help on her name.

posted by Marj Adams
It's pretty straight forward. Take a look at the photo of her gravestone that is on Find A Grave. Her name is spelled "Lavina". Also, I have run across many profiles on WikiTree of the name "Lavina". I figured that "Lavinia" was a common misspelling. The photo of her gravestone seems to show that.

Hey Eric, how are you related to the Crippen family? Levi Crippen looks to be my GGGGGrandpa on my moms's side. Are we cousin's?

Cathy Graves

posted by Cathy Brinkmeyer
Hi Cathy,

My apologies for such a late, late, late reply, but apparently this fell through the cracks! Yes, I have Crippen in my family, but I'm working on a brick wall to try to connect it to the rest of the large Crippen family tree. I also manage the Crippen One Name Study here if you're interested.
