Registration closed Wednesday, 14 January 2026 @ Midnight EST

The Connect-a-Thon is coming up! The goal of our 72-hour marathon: bring the world closer together by adding missing relatives to existing profiles.

The event starts Friday, January 16, at 8 AM EST (1pm UTC) and runs until Monday, January 19, at 8 AM EST (1pm UTC)

Will you join us?

To register, find the answer for which team you'd like to play for. Then click COMMENT in their section to say you would like to participate on that team. If you aren't sure, comment here with a few words about your location and/or genealogical interests. This will help us assign you to a team.

Registration will close at midnight EST on Wednesday, Jan 14.

I have tried for years to confirm the parents of Albert Kittle.  It is difficult because records show different spellings of the last name. (Kittle, Kittell, Kettle, Kettell, Kettelle).  Some other sites show his parents as Stephen and Esther Kittle, but I have no historical record to confirm this and writings about Stephen and Esther's children do not include a child named Albert.  Also, records about Albert's place of birth around 1827 vary - West Greenwich, RI, Smithfield, RI and Warwick, RI.  Death records show he died in Smithfield in 1895 and he is buried there.  He married Sarah Smith in Killingly CT in 1848. He is the father of Charles Kittle/Kettell who was born in RI in 1848 or 1850 and died in Ohio in 1911.  I have census records, etc. but cannot nail down actual records to prove who the parents of Albert Kittle/Kettle/Kettell were.  Please help!

I’m disabled due to a lot of disabilities in my family.  My family is from Scotland, Ireland and Germany.  Most of my dad’s family,‘Hinton’ is from Punxsutawney, PA, and possibly from Scotland.  My mom’s side is ‘Schehl’ and they are from Butler, PA, and from Germany.  

I appreciate any help!

Sign me up.  Wikitree is my stress-relief to the daily news. Areas of interest: New Brunswick - Miramichi area, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia - Halifax Explosion victims (would be interested in a sticker for this?), Scottish settlers to Pictou County (How can there be SOOO many Frasers! Like all the characters ever mentioned in Outlander) and Eastern Shore Nova Scotia - an historically poor part of the country with low literacy rates in the early 1800 resulting in poor records. Will be also cleaning up my own entires.

Hope it's okay to list this here, but I just came across the American inventor of the oven thermometer - David G. Cooper (1830-1907) - who evidently had a family with 12 children in Caldera, Chile. Not a relative of mine, but I made a profile. Here's an interesting story with potentially interesting international connections that seem totally absent from any of the main genealogy sources. Lately I've been requesting categories for Wisconsin cemeteries and adding 16 profiles to each so the reports will list Findagrave profiles that are on Wikitree but need categorization. I've made a lot of unconnected profiles on Wikitree that way because I was trying to add the earliest immigrants to the area. Might be time to rectify some of that.
